Important Notice For Pre-Tax Transit Benefit Program Participants
Effective July 1, 2011, MTA Metro-North Railroad will NOT accept pre-tax Transit Benefit vouchers (for example "TransitChek" & "CommuterCheck") as a form of payment for ticket purchases at Ticket Office Windows and through Mail&Ride.
MTA Metro-North Railroad WILL continue to accept Transit Benefit Cards:
- At Ticket Offices Windows:
If the Transit Benefit Card does not cover the full value of the Railroad ticket purchase, use the Transit Benefit Card as one form of payment and pay the remaining amount with cash or check. - At Ticket Vending Machines:
Only one form of payment is accepted for each transaction (cash, credit /debit card or Transit Benefit Card).
If the Transit Benefit Card does not cover the full value of the Railroad ticket, customers must add post tax funds to the Transit Benefit Card to cover the full value of ticket purchases at Ticket Vending Machines. - Through Mail&Ride:
Please note the Metro-North's Mail&Ride program allows customers to use two (2) forms of payment including two credit cards.
For more information call Mail&Ride staff at: 212-532-4900, Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 5 pm. - Via WebTicket:

Please contact your Transit Benefit Program Administrator at your workplace to select other Transit Benefit payment options, including Transit Benefit Cards or Wire Transfer Payments (for Mail&Ride customers only) and to add post tax funds to the Transit Benefit Card to cover the full value of ticket.
