Easy to reach from anywhere in the tri-state area, the Hudson River Museum is a world in itself. Galleries devoted to American art from the 19th century to the present; Glenview, its historic river home, the Planetarium* (open to the public weekends); Hudson Riverama, a permanent gallery devoted to the environment of the Hudson and its shores; and, The Bookstore, the only permanent installation by Pop Artist Red Grooms on view in New York. ![]() Some special exhibits include: Gilded Age Magic: theatrical posters, magic ephemera and a stage for illusion performances and Westchester Women and War: Portraits: 1940s oil portraits of women in US military service and contemporary photographs of today veterans (May 26 to September 9); Witness: The Art of Jerry Pinkney: features luminous watercolor paintings and richly detailed drawings created for best-loved books for children and carefully-researched historical commissions (September 29, 2012 - January 13, 2013).
