New York City's most famous attractions are fun as well as educational. Please visit web sites of the individual locations for further information such as scheduling and availability. Directions are provided from Penn Station.

American Museum of Natural History/Rose Center
The various exhibit halls offer information on diverse topics ranging from dinosaurs to sea creatures. Special exhibitions and programs rotate throughout the year. The Rose Center explores the wonders of the universe through exhibits, space and IMAX@ films. Grade or interest level educational programs are available by reservation.
Subway: take the train uptown to West 81st Street
Bus: from 8th Avenue at 31st Street, take the M10 uptown to West 81st and Central Park West

Statue of Liberty
Visit the symbol of our Nation's freedom, view inside the Statue through a glass ceiling and walk out onto the observation deck to see breathtaking views of New York City and the harbor. Combine a visit to the Statue with a trip to nearby Ellis Island.
Subway: take the train to Battery Park
Bus: take the M6 directly to Battery Park

Ellis Island
The Immigration Museum features more than thirty galleries filled with artifacts, historic photos, maps, oral histories and family heirlooms brought to America from the old world. A highlight of the museum is the Great Hall, once the focal point of the immigration process.
Subway: take the train to Battery Park
Bus: take the M6 directly to Battery Park

Broadway Shows
There's no easier way to Broadway than by train. Most Broadway theaters are only a short walk from Penn Station. LIRR individual return tickets make it easy for your group to catch a matinee and return right after the show.
Subway: uptown , , : 1st stop on all trains is 42nd Street - Times Square. Use Local : 2nd stop is 50th Street; 3rd stop is 59th Street; 4th stop is 66th Street - Lincoln Center
Walking: use 34th Street Entrance; 7th Avenue is to your right. Turn left on 7th to 42nd Street - Times Square (eight short blocks, about 10 minutes). Bear left as the street forks to continue up Broadway

Metropolitan Museum of Art
Attracting more than five million visitors annually to its two million works of art, the Met ranks among the world's finest museums. Its eclectic collection includes Egyptian art dating back to 3000 B.C. to examples of modern art. Special age-specific educational programs are available
Bus: take the M4 bus up Madison Avenue to East 83rd Street

Empire State Building
See the most spectacular view of New York City from the building's 86th Floor Observatory, which offers a sweeping panorama from either a glass enclosed pavilion, or the surrounding open-air promenade. Get a New York City geography lesson from several thousand feet up. While you're in the building, experience the NY SKYRIDE, a movie motion picture ride that combines digital technology and special effects.
Walking: the Empire State Building is a short walk from Penn Station located at 350 Fifth Avenue

Madison Square Garden
Catch a Rangers, Knicks or Liberty game at the world's most famous arena. You can also arrange for an All Access Tour that will take you courtside and into the locker room. MSG is located atop of Penn Station

New York Stock Exchange
Begin your free tour with an introductory film that explains how stocks are bought and sold as well as telling the history of the Big Board. Then watch the frenzied action from the observation deck high above the trading floor.
Subway: take the or train directly to Wall Street
Bus: walk 1 block south to Broadway, take the M6 to Wall Street

United Nations
Where else can you circle the globe in an hour, take tours in 20 languages and see the halls where international crises are played out? On the one-hour guided tour, you will visit the General Assembly as well as conference halls where nations gather.
Bus: take the M34 cross connector to 1st Avenue and switch to the M15 uptown to East 41st Street

South Street Seaport Museum
Go back to the days of tall-masted schooners and fleet clipper sailing ships. Educational tours of the Museum give a broad overview of New York seafaring as well as the historical significance of the Seaport itself. There's also unique shopping at Pier 17 and a one-hour sightseeing cruise around New York Harbor.
