Fun on Long Island

28th Annual Dutch Festival
HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY, HEMPSTEAD, NY ... One of Long Island’s favorite traditions, the Hofstra Dutch Spring Music Festival.This year Hofstra is stepping it up on the South Campus with concert performances, more than 50 vendors, children’s activities and food.  The Hofstra Arboretum will also host its annual plant sale.


Old Westbury Garden Tours

While guests are invited to tour the house and stroll the gardens at their leisure, Old Westbury Gardens' volunteers provide daily tours of Westbury House on the hour and the half-hour, based upon volunteer availability. Tours of the gardens are run every day we are open from 11:00 am and 2:00 pm (except Sundays); Sunday Garden Tours are at 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm. Guided tours last approximately 45 minutes. House tours meet at the reception desk and garden tours meet at the West Porch Beech Tree.


Public Sails Aboard The Christeen

Tour the harbor aboard the "Christeen," a 49-foot gaff rigged sloop built in 1883. Bring your own food/drinks.


History Alive

Parents and children can both try their hand at managing the everyday chores of 19th-century life, as part of the “History Alive! Hands-On History” program at Old Bethpage Village Restoration.


Run for the Roses in Long Island Wine Country!

2012 Spring Passport to Long Island Wine Country special is underway through June 1. In other words, this is a fabulous time to come spend a few days at  Arbor View House  our  North Fork Long Island Bed and Breakfast near historic Greenport, NY. Visit participating wineries to sample their excellent rose wines and contribute to a very important cause: one dollar of every bottle of Rose purchased during the month will be donated to CancerCare. Come to the region during the month of May and take advantage of special offers at many restaurants, hotel and B&Bs and private tour companies.


Sagtikos Manor

The Sagtikos Manor was built in 1697, and expanded in 1772 and 1902. The estate served as headquarters for the British Army on Long Island for a brief time during the Revolutionary War. President George Washington stayed there during his tour of Long Island in 1790.


Seatuck Environmental Center

Encounter the wild world of Long Island in these unique programs designed for children ages 3-5 and at least one accompanying adult. Fun for the whole family awaits as you explore Long Island's natural world!
